Barcelona
I spent a few days in Barcelona on a quick trip during my first year studying in London. The city is absolutely beautiful and an absolute dream of gothic architecture. The beach is I wouldn't prioritize visiting, especially if you're from somewhere like Sydney, though when it got hot it was refreshing to cool down in the Mediterranean. The other thing to note is that there are pickpockets, I didn't have any problems and I was wearing a backpack on my back but it's just something to be aware of.
We obviously did a lot more things than this but I'm only going to list my Do-Not-Miss List.
Everything is linked for your convenience.
Food
- Cafe Viena Rambles [The BEST sandwich I've ever had, I ate two and a half in one sitting. Order the Iberian ham and tomato]
Something to bear in mind is that water is really expensive at restaurants as they typically do not serve tap water. I would highly recommend carrying around a bottle.
Things To Do
Look up if things need to be booked in advance, I didn't get to see part of the Park Güell because tickets were only available online.
- La Sagrada Familia [Absolutely gorgeous church designed by Gaudi]
- Park Güell [Gardens dotted with Gaudi design elements]
- Walk around the Gothic Quarter
- Catedral de Barcelona [I just saw the exterior of this, which is impressive in itself]
