Late 2016, ELLE UK came to do a presentation at my university. Ticket availability was depleted within minutes and I unfortunately missed out on signing up in time and was trying to make out that it was fine and not my favourite magazine or anything. By some stroke of luck, one of my friends accidentally put her ticket request through twice and I found myself accompanying her to the presentation. At the end of the talk a competition was announced: the editor in chief would listen to three pitches from a selection of students and would choose several of them to guest edit a section of the summer edition of the world’s best selling fashion magazine. In June 2017 the issue of the magazine I helped create was released, my own full page article and all.
